What happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas. At least we hope that's the case for the attendees of the 2009 Online Lead Quality Summit — walking away with valuable industry insight and partnerships.
What started on as a small industry event in 2006 with little fanfare, has evolved into an annual "must-attend" tune-up for new ideas and strategies for nearly 400 senior interactive marketers.
The agenda rocketed off to a fast start at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino with the Summit's first pre-conference workshop including a track that allowed industry new comers to get a crash course in online lead generation. Industry-specific tracks followed, taking deep dives into Automotive, Education, Finance and Display Advertising.
Stewart Butterfield, co-founder of Flickr teed off days two's content by recounting how the Internet has evolved and how online marketers can do the same. Polly LaBarre, Author of "Mavericks at Work"delivered the closing keynote address that captivated the audience with her remarkable story-telling of unique ways companies are inspiring innovation.
General sessions blended the growing impact of social media and display advertising on the online lead generation industry. It was easy to spot the common thread of future-focused content — the "what next?" attitude — as opposed to the usual current trends. Representatives from Yahoo!, Facebook, Razorfish, IAB, AdMarvel and a host of others discussed challenges, anecdotes, successes and what they anticipate moving forward.
Beyond the agenda of 36 speakers, industry awards, after-hours networking receptions and live music, the 2009 Online Lead Quality Summit was an exhilarating event. We can't wait for 2010!
